I am looking to change legislation on nonprofit donations reporting. Currently any nonprofit making under $30,000.00 yearly in donations and or grants do not have to report where our hard earned money is going. We have no proof that it’s not being used for a stipend or that it is in fact going where it’s intended to be used when donated. I see many nonprofits in my area who receive well over the $30,000.00 mark of donations and grants but report nothing to the IRS because of this loophole. We need all moneys to be reported! Every penny! I see many nonprofits soliciting for donations and 90% do not report this to the IRS even though they are constantly asking for donations and doing events netting profits over the $30,000.00 mark.
