Well this morning at 8 am yesterday morning I had a meeting at Royal Perth hospital with a team of professionals and I finally have some answers and some very important decisions to make.

Whilst the news is not what I wanted to hear at least I have the information to process and make decisions.

I now have scar management and nerve blockers which I am very grateful for.

Because my nerve on the right side of my throat is paralysed I cannot speak properly or cough or swallow properly, this paralysed nerve is also making me very vulnerable for infection

I caught pneumonia in hospital causing my lung to collapse this will be an ongoing issue for me due to the paralysis in my nerve allowing bacteria to get in when I eat or drink.

I also today had a scheduled zoom meeting this afternoon with an oncologist in Bangkok to seek his opinion and he is extremely concerned with how the surgery went and the complications that have followed.

I am also booked in with a leading specialist oncologist privately here in Perth first week of December.

Unfortunately everything that could go wrong did go wrong and their exact words today were this is the worst case they have seen in many years because the cancer is growing through my nerves around my voice box, my neck and affecting my airways.

I also have been referred to another specialist for a tracheal portable microphone as it is looking very likely I will end up with a tracheotomy.(My worst fear meaning my career as a facilitator, key note speaker & international educator in the domestic violence sector will be over )

I appreciate everyone who is trying to help me and supporting me through this journey I am doing my upmost to be proactive in my research and ensure I seek only the best and go with what my instinct tells me.

In six days I have another medical appointment at Royal Perth followed by a private surgeon to seek a very much needed second opinion and care plan.

Once I have had these medical meetings I then have to make what feels like an impossible decision but one that has to be made.

I am very much in the processing this news stage.
