À l’attention des élus municipaux,

Nous, soussignés, nous opposons à la construction d'une pump track sur le lot # 1860669, terrain adjacent au boisé du Domaine Saint-Paul à l'Île des Sœurs.

Le Domaine Saint-Paul est un véritable joyau de diversité écologique, abritant une flore et une faune extraordinaires. Cet espace naturel est essentiel pour la préservation de la biodiversité locale et constitue un havre de paix pour les résidents et les visiteurs. Le projet de construction d'une pump track sur ce site pourrait avoir des impacts néfastes et irréversibles sur cet écosystème précieux.

Avec un budget de plus de 1 000 000 $, l’appel d’offres prévoit que la pump track occupera 3 500 m², soit l’équivalent de six terrains de tennis. Ce projet concerne un espace actuellement zoné parc, adjacent au boisé du Domaine Saint-Paul et au lac des Battures. Nous ne connaissons pas les conséquences potentielles de cette construction sur la biodiversité locale, mais nous sommes assurés que les perturbations seront significatives.

Nous demandons à la ville de reconsidérer le choix de cet emplacement pour la pump track. Il existe certainement d’autres lieux où une telle installation pourrait être construite sans mettre en péril un écosystème aussi précieux. Nous encourageons les autorités municipales à explorer ces alternatives et à privilégier la préservation de notre patrimoine naturel.

Nous invitons tous les citoyens soucieux de la protection de notre environnement à signer cette pétition pour manifester leur opposition à la construction de la pumptrack sur ce lot. Ensemble, nous pouvons faire entendre notre voix et protéger le boisé du Domaine Saint-Paul pour les générations futures.

No to the Construction of a Pump Track on the Land Adjacent to the Wooded Area of Domaine St-Paul on Nuns' Island

To the attention of the elected municipal officials,

We, the undersigned, oppose the construction of a pump track on lot # 1860669, the land adjacent to the wooded area of the Domaine St-Paul on Nuns' Island.

Domaine St-Paul is a true jewel of ecological diversity, home to extraordinary flora and fauna. This natural area is essential for the preservation of local biodiversity and is a haven of peace for residents and visitors alike. The project to build a pump track on this site could have harmful and irreversible impacts on this precious ecosystem.

With a budget of more than $1,000,000, the call for tenders provides that the pump track will occupy 3,500 m², the equivalent of six tennis courts. This project concerns an area currently zoned park, adjacent to the wooded area of the Domaine St-Paul and Lac des Battures. We do not know the potential consequences of this construction on local biodiversity, but we are assured that the disturbances will be significant.

We ask the City to reconsider the choice of this location for the pump track. There are certainly other places where such a facility could be built without jeopardizing such a valuable ecosystem. We encourage municipal authorities to explore these alternatives and to prioritize the preservation of our natural heritage.

We invite all citizens concerned about the protection of our environment to sign this petition to show their opposition to the construction of the pump track on this lot. Together, we can make our voices heard and protect the wooded area of the Domaine St-Paul for future generations.
