Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, donated, promoted the petition, commented, or sent words of encouragement.

I read all your comments. I see your names. I watch your videos. I know how deeply so many of you care about rabbits and how painful it is to see these gentle animals treated as if their suffering does not matter.

This petition is here to make a stand for rabbits.

It gives us a way to say, together, that rabbits are not disposable. They are not meat units. They are sensitive, intelligent, social animals who feel fear, pain, trust and love.

We now have 7,621 supporters and are 76% of the way to the next petition goal. We need only 2,379 more signatures to reach it. But of course if we can exceed 10,000 signatures that would be amazing.

While Hop to Save Rabbits continues to raise this issue through talks, including at the Vegan Animal Rights Conference - Manchester U.K.  and  U.K. Animal law conference - Birmingham, rescue work is also happening on the ground in South Africa.

Why Southern Cape Bunny Haven matters
While we push for change, Southern Cape Bunny Haven is helping the rabbits who survive.

They care for rabbits rescued from the meat trade and other severe neglect. They are doing the rescue work on the ground while we fight to stop more rabbits ending up in that system.
