THE INCIDENT:

On February 22nd, 2022, Gabrielle Xlander, Licensed Practical Nurse, 34, was arrested and charged with assault in the second degree (felony), attempted assault in the second degree (misdemeanor), and endangering the welfare of a child (misdemeanor) by the Broome County District Attorney's Office in the State of New York.

Xlander is allegedly seen assaulting a minor in a video posted to social media that has since gone viral. The video allegedly depicts Xlander controlling a young girl by means of grabbing and pulling her hair while Xlander questions and screams profanities at the young girl. It is speculated that the young girl in the video is Xlander's daughter, however this has not been confirmed.

In the viral video, Xlander, allegedly, violently controls the young girl's body by means of pulling the young girl's hair, Xlander is seen asking the young girl who she is with, as Xlander points to a photo on the young girl's phone. It is speculated that the woman the young girl is seen with in the photo was having an affair with Xlander's significant other.

During the questioning, as seen in the video, Xlander, allegedly, escalates her tone and demeanor and begins to violently assault the young girl with strong blows to the young girls head and face, knocking the young girl back. While the assault is taking place, the individual recording the incident steps in to stop the attack. Emergency services were called to the scene.

On March 16th, 2022, the Broome County District Attorney's Office offered a plea deal to Xlander. Had Xlander accepted the plea deal, Xlander would have admitted guilt and been given no jail time and 5 years probation. Xlander refused the plea deal, meaning this case may be heading to trial and Xlander could face up to 7 years in prison. 

It is worth noting that Xlander's father is speculated to be an attorney.

THE ISSUE:

After watching the viral video for myself I decided to use my following on social media to spread the word about this heinous act towards an innocent and helpless child. I posted the video to my TikTok account (@chasecurlrantz) with further information and personal commentary. Since posted, the video has reached over 6.4 million views, 1.4 million likes, and 116,000 shares.

Like me, people are extremely disturbed with this case and the level of concern the prosecutors, and/or district attorney(s), appear to not share.

As it is speculated that Xlander's father is an attorney it is our concern there may be personal ties between Xlander's father and the Broome County District Attorney's Office. It is our worry that this may inhibit the judicial process. For example, the fact that Xlander was offered a plea deal greatly upset thousands, including myself. Of course, this is not to imply any aforementioned personal relations exist between these parties. This is simply a concern of ours.

THE SOLUTION:

If this petition is successful, the Broome County District Attorney's Office will review this petition, and every signature associated, in hopes they fully understand the concern of the people, and seek the full sentence for all charges associated in this case, in the event Xlander is found guilty.
