THANK YOU to everyone for coordinating a productive and rewarding gathering last night! It was inspirational to see so many community members affirm their commitment to preserving the land.
HIGH TURNOUT: We had close to 50 participants at last nights gathering in front of Orange City Hall! Amongst the attendees were residents from Orange, residents from other nearby cities and canyon residents.
TRIBAL REPRESENTATION: Special thanks to Adelia Sandoval, Acjachemen spiritual leader, who spoke from the heart and reinforced our duty to preserve this land for future generations and the voiceless wildlife that call the 400 acres their home. This relationship with the tribe is very important to maintain in our effort to negotiate with The Irvine Company.
APPEARANCE BY NEWPORT (M317) THE MT LION: Special thanks to Susan Hardy, canyon resident, who gave us the rare opportunity to shake hands and take photos with Newport (M317) the mountain lion who appreciates the 400 acres.
ORANGE INTERNATIONAL STREET FAIR: This weekend, we have volunteers signed up to do outreach at the street fair. We'll dress in costumes (animals, fairies, pirates, etc. We'll have stickers and postcards to distribute. Contact us, if you can assist.
MARKET/PUBLIC RELATIONS HELP! We need marketing specialists and public relations experts to assist with raising awareness, attracting attention and support for our campaign. If anyone can find a local PR firm or individual, we can potentially hire their services, please contact us ASAP.
DOOR-TO-DOOR: All of us need to canvas each neighborhood. Many of those who attended our gathering are willing to do this. We have a flyer available to download and print. We have postcards.
NEIGHBORHOOD GATHERINGS & SUPPORT:
TEAM ROLES: Anjali suggested that we define our roles within our campaign. I'm only able to manage one task at a time, so I'm struggling to accomplish what needs to be done. Please determine your roles, if you haven't already. I know many of us are spread thin and there may be some overlap, but we can also recruit more people to assist with these task.
