Join B&B Music Studio and No Orange Heights in celebrating the life and mourning the untimely death of Uno, Orange County's mountain lion celebrity. The evening will include a land acknowledgement, guest speakers, and live music. For the community, there will opportunities to process our grief by bringing music or spoken word for the open mic, participating in a jam session, and contributing to collective art dedicated to Uno. More details to come!
On January 18, Uno (F312) was struck by a vehicle while she was crossing Santiago Canyon Road during rush hour. She was able to limp off the road and into the bushes but she later succumbed to her injuries. Uno was pregnant as well, but the kittens were not fully developed and were not able to be saved. This is the reality that these animals face here in Orange County: surviving amongst never-ending human sprawl. The population of mountain lions in Orange County is shrinking and the loss of a breeding female is exceptionally devastating. Our local mountain lion population cannot bear any further loss of habitat or extra vehicles to dodge on the road. Please help us stand up to further development along Santiago Canyon Road by
