The fact that wars are currently happening in the 21st century is ludicrous. Despite the catastrophic effects wars have had on the world in the past and even though politicians have promised peace, they continue to attack other countries.  It’s time to choose leaders who do not care only about their personal political gain but are capable of bringing world peace instead.

The main causes of war are money and politics.  War has plagued mankind for thousands of years, as people continuously fight each other.  Nowadays, however, the threat of a war is becoming more and more dangerous due to the invention of nuclear weapons.

War has a detrimental effect to any country involved.  Firstly, economic development crumbles since citizens of a country cannot work.  Secondly, families lose their homes and may even get separated from one another.  Another factor is many people are either severely injured or killed.  Lastly, because trading comes to a halt, the worldwide economy almost always takes a hit.

For society to develop we need to maintain peace. It is a fact that war destroys both “winners” and “losers” leading to a loss of human lives and resources.  On the other hand, peace goes hand in hand with fundamental freedoms which include physical, social and financial ones.

There are ways we could prevent war.  One of which is to choose better political leaders who will in turn listen to what their citizens have to say. Also, we should all try to alter our mindsets and be more compassionate with our fellow citizens.

The obvious conclusion to be drawn is:  NO MORE WAR!  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
