Hello, we are Ari Pelaez and Victor Camero, we are 12 years old kids and the reason why we have started this petition is because we want to help to stop shark finning.

Do you know that an estimate of 100 MILLIONS OF SHARKS are killed every year and 73 millions of them are for shark fin soup?  Shark-finning is a practice where sharks are caught and their fins are cut off, then the body of the shark is discarded.

“It’s like cutting off your limbs and leaving you to bleed to death,” said  Rebecca Regnery/deputy director of wildlife at Humane Society International.

If sharks go extinct then the food chain will be messed up and there will be an over-population of the sea animals in the middle of the food chain.

We want to stop shark finning because sharks are an important part of the ocean.
