No More Monuments In Sid Goldstein Freedom Park Or Any Westminster Parks!

The Issue

We, the undersigned veterans, residents, and citizens of Westminster and Orange County, many of whom participate in events at and visit the beautiful Vietnam War Memorial at Sid Goldstein Freedom Park in Westminster, do hereby demand the City Council of the City of Westminster permanently ban the placement of any future war memorials/monuments in this park including the proposed Quang Tri monument.  The existing two-soldier monument represents and honors all who fought in the Vietnam War in all battles in all locations from all countries and unifies us all.  It is a sacred and holy place where we all come to pray and remember all who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the war and those who fought valiantly, forever changed, and those still grieving.  More monuments will dilute the significance of the unity and bonds between the American and South Vietnamese soldiers and our respective communities.  We also demand the Westminster City Council not steal any more precious park space from the residents of Westminster to install foreign war/battle monuments.  Leave our parks alone!
