Will you stand with us?
The Boeing Company owns one of California's most toxic sites, the Santa Susana Field Lab, but doesn't want to pay for the complete cleanup. They've used their power to influence California's EPA to change the cleanup agreements to leave almost all of their property dangerously contaminated, instead of the complete "background" cleanup that residents were promised.
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the City of Los Angeles and the City of Simi Valley all promised to sue if the cleanup was weakened, but it's been a year but they haven't begun litigation.
We've asked them to start by July 23, 2024 because every day that goes by is another day when people can be exposed.
Contamination from the Field Lab reaches Ventura County and Los Angeles through groundwater, wind, and wildfires. Independent studies have shown higher cancer rates in the communities surrounding the site.
Join us as we try to overcome corporate greed and government corruption and set a new cleanup standard that could protect people who live near contaminated sites across the US. If the Ventura County Board of Supervisors goes forward with the lawsuit, we'll celebrate instead.
We'll have the posters there and can help you write a public comment if you'd like to stay for the meeting. Please wear your green PASSFL shirt, or we can bring one for you. Kids are welcome to join.
