Greenwashing: actions meant to intentionally deceive the public into believing that a company is environmentally friendly.
In a first-class performance of greenwashing, Boeing has just donated $1 million dollars to a wildlife corridor overpass near Los Angeles. In reality, Boeing is just trying to avert the public's attention that they are responsible for approximately $1 billion dollars to clean one of California's most toxic sites, the Santa Susana Field Lab (SSFL), which is located directly across from the same wildlife corridor overpass they donated to.
Boeing was careful to not mention that the Santa Susana Field Lab's contamination is toxic to the same local wildlife they claim to be protecting. Boeing is harming our local wildlife, including several threatened and endangered species. And their greenwashing campaign isn't going to fix that. Only cleaning up the entire Santa Susana Field Lab will.
So here's my thought. Let's show Boeing their greenwashing campaign isn't going to save them money...it's going to cost them. Many unions and companies invest in Boeing as part of their stock portfolios.
Check with your stock manager, union or company and ask them to refrain from investing in Boeing until they 100% finish the Santa Susana Field Lab cleanup.
