The issue

Ryde Council’s Macquarie Park has five data centres and another six are proposed!  The Macquarie Park/North Ryde precinct is at saturation point, and the area is at risk of becoming a data centre wasteland.  Data centres use large volumes of water; consume large amounts of power; are noisy and not suitable to be built near the Lane Cove National Park.

This area was designed as a jobs precinct and data centres provide very few jobs.

Other council areas such as nearby Lane Cove have recently been successful in stopping the building of a data centre and it’s time for Ryde residents to start making some noise!

Please sign my petition if you support an immediate moratorium on the building of more data centres in Ryde.
