I added “Please Read and Sign” to the title and body.

I recently thanked several friends and family members for signing the petition and asked them if they had read it. Only two people had read it. No one offered their plan of action. Please consider reading the petition.

Your signature is your pledge to recommit yourself to the work of promoting human rights outlined in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR):

“Now, therefore,

The General Assembly

proclaims

this Universal Declaration of Human Rights

as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction.”

Please consider emailing me “Your Plan of Action.”

Email your plan of action to admin@empathysurplus.com.

Your signature should mean you will act in some way every day to promote our shared duty to care for one another’s human rights and freedoms. Because the people of the USA and our local and state elected representatives have NOT demanded that their US Senators ratify and enable the United Nations’ 18 Human Rights Treaties. In fact, I met an Ohio candidate for US Congress yesterday, who had never heard of the UDHR.

So, unless you have a personal plan of action that you can help us with, consider using this link to Remove Your Signature from a Petition.
