This petition is on behalf of the residents of Brunswick County.

We do not want flock cameras within our communities. Not only do flock cameras help create a surveillance state, they also present ethical challenges and possible dangers when it comes to their use and applications, as we have seen through recent conduct within our own police department. 

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office is funded partially through tax payer dollars. Flock Safety is the manufacturer of the flock cameras purchased. Peter Thiel is an investor in this company. Thiel held active business and professional relationships with Jeffrey Epstein, years after Epstein was found to be a pedophile.

This shows an entire lack of a moral compass and should concern everyone as to who is funding and profiting off their surveillance.

Brunswick County has an obligation to use tax payer dollars ethically and conscientiously, with the citizens' needs and wants being the priority, especially its most precious - children. 

We ask that Brunswick county discontinue its contracts with, and use of all flock cameras, and their manufacturers.
