The Issue

The current proposal put forward by Kier Starmer to release up to 40,000 prisoners in a bid to combat overcrowding  potentially puts at risk the safety of women and children. This petition seeks to insure that convicts sentenced for rape, sexual assault or pedophilia are not given this benefit of early release. These crimes of sexual violence are deeply harmful. It is our responsibility as a society to ensure that those who have carried out such heinous acts remain behind bars. This will not only offer a sense of safety to potential victims, but it would also serve as a deterrent to others who might think of committing these horrific acts in the future. We call upon the new Labour government to not allow the early release of any sexual offenders. Please sign this petition to support our movement against the possibility of early release for sexual offenders.
