No Data Centers in Posey County
The Issue
Big tech companies are looking at our community to start building large data centers. These data centers are gigantic. They are not just a warehouse that sits quietly. They are constantly running; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sucking up high volumes of electricity and running cold water cooling systems that put off toxic sludge into our grounds. They are loud. They are bright. They put off toxic emissions that pollute our air, leading to respiratory diseases and cancer. If a data center is allowed in our area- it will destroy our beautiful rural area that we love so dearly. In short- this means higher electricity bills. Higher percentage increases in neurological complications due to noise. Higher infant and child cancer rates. Toxic chemicals such as Lead and mercury waste into our ground water. And wildlife depletion. Please sign the petition to show our local leaders that we do not want or need any part of these Data centers.
