Action Needed: Support Motion to Ban AI Data Centers in Unincorporated LA County

On October 6th at 9:30 am, the LA County Board of Supervisors will be voting on a motion authored by Supervisor Solis titled "Safeguarding Public and Environmental Health from Data Centers". This motion, if passed, aims to define what a data center is, update zoning regulations for data centers, and explicitly prohibit all large-scale data centers in all zones of unincorporated LA County.
We need to show support and urge all of the supervisors to vote in favor of this motion. At the same time, we need to guide LA County on how they can regulate and prohibit all AI data centers, regardless of size, while still leaving room for traditional business data centers that have always powered Gmail, Netflix, etc.
Your Action: Once again, I've created a simple one-click email that you can send to urge the Board of Supervisors to vote "yes" on this motion, and work towards banning all AI data centers in unincorporated LA County.
If you're willing to take an extra step, I'd recommend making an official public comment in favor of this motion (Item 14 on the October 6th agenda) via the new official public comment form. Fill out your name, click on Item 14 and select "In Favor". Then proceed to complete the submission process.
On a related topic, we're still collecting signatures on the petition to urge the LA County Board of Supervisors to intervene regarding the Marici BESS project. Building this BESS in City of Industry is a crucial step in allowing an AI data center to successfully operate in this area.
