No classes on Saturdays for FGCU

No classes on Saturdays for FGCU
The Issue
FGCU has made a decision to hold classes on Saturdays. There are a number of reasons this is unacceptable. For me, I am an out of state student who does not get any scholarship opportunities. I recently took out a $30,000 loan in my name to pay for tuition, room and board, books, and everything else that is already overpriced for an out of state student. I am already in debt as a 19-year-old simply to get an education. I was more than willing to do that because of how much I love FGCU, but I simply cannot afford to continue here if this decision to hold classes on Saturdays is made. I have monthly interest payments for this loan that I pay myself by going to work on the weekends. If I cannot go to work on the weekends, I cannot pay the monthly payments, which means I cannot afford to continue my education at FGCU. I am a first-generation college student and if Saturdays are put into place, that name will be stripped away from me as I will have to work full time to pay off a loan that was for nothing as I won't be able to afford to continue classes. I am begging, as a student who once loved FGCU, please consider another alternative and allow the students to be a part of that decision. (Possibly a vote of some sort or a survey but allow the students to have a say in their academics)
Ontop of financial reasons, students mental health is at play. We just went through a natural disaster and now will be expected to go through a 6 day school week.
We are begging as students to please change the decision and to not hold classes on Saturdays.
