Feeders are meant to be safe spots for cats.  Instead, they are becoming places of suffering.  Cats are being abused, abandoned, and left with untreated injuries — and there is no system in place to get them medical help.

Right now, when a cat is found sick or injured at a feeder, there is no emergency option, no vet access, and no funding system.  These animals are left to die while an international audience watches helplessly through the app.

The few volunteers on the ground are independently found, overworked, and unfunded.  They are doing everything they can with almost nothing, while PURR continues to profit from the global platform it built.

We need changes to give us the ability to help the cats. That’s why we are all here to begin with.

 
The Problems

• No medical help — kittens are abandoned and cats with broken legs, severe illness, or injuries are left untreated. There is no system to get them to a vet before it’s too late.
• Feeders are unsafe — cats are being abused where they should be protected.
• No emergency outlet — abuse and medical crises can only be “reported” in ways that take days, not minutes.
• Volunteers abandoned — local helpers are exhausted and unsupported, while PURR benefits financially.
• Missing tools — unlike the Chinese version, there’s no emergency system, no crowdfunding, no fast communication.

The Solutions

• Ambassador Program – Allow trusted users to flag emergencies directly to PURR and local responders.
• Emergency Reporting System – A real-time system for reporting medical cases and abuse, where staff act immediately.
• Medical Response & Crowdfunding – Build direct donation links on feeder pages so people can fund emergency vet care for that cat instantly.  No more helpless watching.  Attach funding options directly to the feeders that need help.
• Medical Fund- a portion of either subscriptions or crowdfunded money should form a medical fund that can be accessed with emergencies are unfolding and need immediate attention.
• Accountability for Abusers – PURR must use camera evidence to identify abusers trespassing and harming cats. They should act in real time by contacting police, supporting property owners, and banning abusers from access.  They need to press charges for trespass and interference with private property until there are better laws to hold them accountable for the horrific abuse they are committing.
• Safety Commitment – PURR must address the abuse and lack of medical care, and commit to making feeders true safe zones for cats.
   

Why We’re Speaking Up
The alternative is to do nothing.  But one voice becomes ten, and ten becomes a hundred.  Momentum matters.  The more we raise our voices, the harder we are to ignore.

None of this is difficult.  The Chinese version of PURR already has crowdfunding and medical facilitation.  Adding these life-saving tools here would not only save countless animals but also grow the platform and rebuild trust.

Right now, cats are dying at feeders while the world watches. This must end.
