Bastrop County Commissioners have voted to fund a feasibility study about building an AI Data Center in Bastrop County. Their study parameters do not consider the environmental impact, water use, or anything other than tax revenue.

That’s because they must know that these data centers are harmful to the environment, deplete our already strained water supplies, raising rates for everyone, and use massive amounts of electricity that we may end up paying for, all while potentially dumping 130 tons per year of nitrogen oxides into our local environment, which can cause or exacerbate respiratory illnesses, especially in children.

This is a non-starter! Sign this petition to tell the Bastrop County  Commissioners that we don’t want an AI Data Center in our county!
