Remove starving mare and her foal from neglectful home.

Remove starving mare and her foal from neglectful home.
The Issue
- Please help! Demand that Bernalillo County Animal Welfare OR NMLB remove this starving mare and her foal from their neglectful home. WE URGENTLY NEED SUPPORTERS TO CALL NMLB at (505) 841-6161 demanding action and requesting welfare checks. The legal address of the lot where the horses reside is 6620 Isleta Blvd. SW Albuquerque 87105. If enough of us call we can not be ignored!
When people walk by this filthy garbage strewn lot on Pepper Lane in Albuquerque New Mexico a mare and her old foal approach the fence with desperate neighs and fearful eyes. These horses have been in the care of their owner for over 6 weeks. The mares bones protrude more each week as they are denied adequate care. The owners have been offered help with feed and refused. The mare has stripped all the leaves she can reach from the trees and tries desperately to reach the dried tumbleweeds outside the fenceline.
The New Mexico Livestock Board and local Bernalillo County Animal Care Services have been notified by many concerned neighbors but authorities are slow to take action. The individual assigned to the case by NM Livestock Board has a history of allowing horses to continue being starved until euthanasia is the only option, as well as a history of helping abusers escape facing animal cruelty charges. He has expressed that this is "not a severe case of starvation" however, multiple horse experts who work in equine related fields disagree and believe these horses are in eminent danger and will not survive the impending cold weather season. Please sign our petition demanding that the authorities take action to remove them from their neglectful owners and press charges against them for animal cruelty.
***UPDATE 10/22/2020***
Inspector Lovato added a supplemental report on 10/19 which provided contradictory statements. At one point it reads "The mare and foal in question have remained the same." While at another point he stated, "The mare has improved slightly." Recent photographs show that in comparison with photos taken by Lovato on 9/23/2020 the mares condition has deteriorated and is indeed neither the same nor slightly improved but rather deteriorated.
For all those who are concerned the mare seemed to be walking normally and no longer holding her hoof up. However she is still in need of hoof care and the lot is still covered in refuse such as aluminum cans, tubes of caulk, scrap metal and more which they are constantly walking over and could potential cause injury.
**UPDATED cover photo 10/28/2020 to reflect current condition with slight improvement of the mare. Photo take by Inspector Lovato 10/26/2020***
