UPDATES:
On June 22, The Lower Township Council renewed the liquor license for the Club, despite objections from the state. The vote was unanimous in the Club's favor after township attorney David Stefankiewicz called the letter of opposition from the state a "smokescreen." You can watch the meeting here, with the Hearing portion beginning at the 33-minute mark.
In mid-June, the state Department of Environmental Protection filed a landlord-tenant complaint as the next step in their effort to remove the Sunset Beach Sportsmen's Club from our home of more than 65 years. An initial case management conference has been scheduled.
We will continue to fight.
