So I finally check up on this petition again, and in the span of just two days, there's been a gargantuan jump- mid-800s to over 1400 sigs! Very impressive, and incredibly promising! I can't thank signees enough for contributing!

We just need more momentum to restore more unrestricted creativity and quality control/the drive to say "No, this doesn't work the way we have it now/we need to think of the player over ourselves" to this legendary spin-off of the Mario franchise. And to drive that momentum, this petition has to continue being shared, to persuade Nintendo re-evaluate who's in charge.
