Today, April 2, 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 was officially revealed in a Nintendo Direct. We saw some pretty great games like Mario Kart World, Kirby Air Riders, and Donkey Kong Bananza.

HOWEVER

Conveniently left out of the hour long direct was the price points....which were subtly revealed after the direct online.

EIGHTY DOLLARS (IN USD) FOR THE DIGITAL GAME AND NINETY DOLLARS FOR THE PHYSICAL GAME.

Brand new PS5 and Xbox games are topping out at $69.99 for retail physical versions, and pretty quickly after releases sales occur, making them pretty cheap to pick up.

Nintendo, I think the best move here is to mimic the PS5 and other gaming industry standards and stick with $69.99 price tags at the max.

You are going to alienate your audience, and go back on what Nintendo's ultimate goal is: "to put smiles on people's faces". I understand that profit is important and the company has to make money, but this isn't the way to do it. This is making it so much harder on the people who love your company and games to ever make playing Mario Kart a reality. It's going to force people to switch to other systems who can provide a similar experience for a cheaper price.

Do not repeat the Wii U generation of Nintendo and disappoint your audiences.

Nintendo, you have time. Everyone will applaud that you are listening to your fans if you make this change prior to release, so please listen to your fans and lower the price point of your software for the Nintendo Switch 2.
