FREE UGWUMBA UCHE NWOSU NOW!

The Issue

This morning, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the Founder and President of the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa was abducted by the Nigeria Police Force at the St. Peter's Anglican Church, Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre LGA of Imo State, Nigeria.

We hereby demand his immediate and unconditional release by the Nigeria Police Force based on the following grounds:

1) What offence did Ugwumba Uche Nwosu commit?

2) Was there a warrant of arrest? If there was, did they show him the warrant before they whisked him away the way they did?

3) Was there an earlier invitation by the Nigeria Police Force that he refused to honour?

4) Even if there was an invitation that he ignored, was that enough reason for the Police to invade the Church of God to arrest him while the service was still on?

5) If the arrest was official, why must it be today while they were in a Thanksgiving Service in honor of his mother, who was buried a few days ago?

6) If the arrest was official, why the sporadic shooting in the house of God that ended the Thanksgiving Service, abruptly?

7) If the arrest was official, why would they have to treat Ugwumba Uche Nwosu like a common criminal by abducting and forcing him into their car trunk?

As provided by Laws of the land, even criminals are deemed to be innocent until they are convicted in a competent Court of Law, so their rights as citizens are respected during arrest.

What exactly happened in this case?

The Nigeria Police Force should please tell Nigerians what happened and release him to us without any further delay.

We're waiting, anxiously because #UgwumbaCares for #Nigeria
