THERE MUST BE CHANGE IN SCHOOLS!

I am a 6th year student who has got a member of the household who is shielding as they were receiving treatment for cancer, like many other students and parents in my situation we are finding the environment of school increasingly more stressful and difficult to learn with the panic of Covid 19.

The country has already seen the devastating impacts of the virus and thousands of families have experienced it first hand. But I alongside many others, feel the schools are not enforcing the procedures as they should.

As I am experiencing the school environment first hand I am witnessing the lack of steps in place to help stop the spread of the virus. I have spoken to others and many have said they would feel more comfortable having the teachers in first period checking everyone's temperature with an infrared thermometer before entering class and sending those with any health concerns home - I have seen the price of these start at as little as £7.

Due to a temperature being one of the main symptoms of Covid 19, it should be a necessary procedure that is put in place.

There are many students inside the school premises in corridors etc who are not using masks which is supposed to be an ensured policy. And with unknown future ahead it should be enforced that everyone must do their part in order take a stand and help all people who are also experiencing this  same anxiety the students are feeling. Especially for those in senior school with possible exams in the future which may or may not take place.

With the constant rise in cases it's time schools crack down on the policy's made. And more safety  procedures MUST be put in place immediately for the sake of the students, teachers and family that the virus is being taken home to.
