I believe sign language should be taught To children from Nursery age, through to Secondary School and In mainstream school, not just Schools for disabled Children.

Sign Language is an extremely important thing, and in my opinion more important than learning French or Spanish in school. Sign language can be used for everyone, from deaf to mute.

In more personal life, i have met the most amazing person, who was injured in an accident and is now Mute, due to that accident. Learning sign language is an extremely difficult thing to do, and this can happen to anyone, or you could have a child, who is born deaf, or mute, and you have to learn sign to communicate with your children.
However, if sign language is taught in mainstream nursery and school, from a young age, you can be well prepared for whatever the future holds.
