Please Add an Autistic Character to The Loud House

The Issue

The Loud House is a show about family and includes different kinds of families. One of which is the one we all know, one boy, named Lincoln Loud, and his ten sisters, Lori, Leni, Luna, Luna, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa, and baby Lily, and their parents Lynn Sr. and Rita. Also Lincoln's friend Clyde McBride and his two gay dads, Harold and Howard. There's also Lincoln's female friend Ronnie Anne Santiago and not only her older brother Bobby and their divorced mother, but their other family members, the Casagrandes, one of whom has Down Syndrome, that being CJ.

How about an autistic character be added to the show if there isn't already one (unless you count Leni, Luna, Lucy, and or Lisa,) and in addition to CJ, the Down Syndrome character? Preferably a high-functioning autistic character.

The character should be male but can be female, Lincoln's age, and one more of Lincoln's friends in addition to Clyde, Liam, Rusty, Zack, and Stella. He should also be in Lincoln's class.

I'm an autistic person myself and would really like to see an autistic character included in The Loud House and so do a few other people with autism, although not everyone wants an autistic character on The Loud House.

I also say this because a few other shows have included characters with autism and other characters with special needs. For example, Arthur, the PBS Kids cartoon about an 8-year-old aardvark (that looks more like a bear or mouse) in glasses included an autistic character in Season 13, called "Carl," a creme-skinned male rabbit with red hair and glasses, and he's made a few subsequent appearances and cameos. Another show to include an autistic character was Sesame Street, the character was a female puppet named Julia. Dinosaur Train, another PBS cartoon, also included an autistic character.

One cartoon that included both an autistic character, and another with Down Syndrome in an earlier episode is the infamous cartoon Caillou, and I for one like that cartoon but I digress. But Caillou featured a Down Syndrome character in the Season 4 episode "Caillou and the Dragon," and an autistic person, at least it's likely he had autism but it was never mentioned, in the episode "Follow Me." (Season 5).

If Caillou can feature both a Down Syndrome character and an autistic character, and a few other cartoons include a character with autism, why shouldn't The Loud House included an autistic character too? This can also help raise autism awareness!

Of course, there shouldn't be just any autistic character in The Loud House, and the character shouldn't be an autistic stereotype, real actual autistic people should be observed and careful research should be done on autism before any autistic character is included.

But The Loud House should include a character with autism.

The creator of Cody Carpenter gives permission to Nickelodeon and the makers of The Loud House to use Cody, but any character can be used.

So if and only if you want to see an autistic character on The Loud House, a character that surely has autism, not just characters guessed to have it, please sign this petition.

Thank you!
