The animals abuse and neglect law should be changed for the better!!
The Issue
Under current law, people who are charged or convicted for animal abuse or neglect have the right to animal ownership taken away from them as an individual,
however, Due to flaws in the system, the people have been able to simply pass the animals in to family members or posses them under a name other than their own.
Due to recent events showing an increase of animal abuse, the laws that stand in this country are simply not enough in comparison to what is needed in order to stop the act of cruelty.
Recently there have been a lot of racehorse cases hitting the news and going viral on social media. It would seem, though, that those animals that are abandoned in fields evade the view of the public eye. This has become palpable in the last month, as multiple foals have died in South Cave. Each foal found has been skeletal.
this has become more apparent this year, because a large group of horses have been left in a field all winter, with very little grass and minimum hay, meaning the horses all look emaciated.
It is with thanks to the generous locals that the horses now have hay, but unfortunately this has resulted in a reaction making the case very hard to prove.
Suddenly with a light being shon over the unknown owner's sins, in a panic of exposure, fresh hay has been placed in the field making them look responsible. Thanks to this, these horses will not be rescued, until yet again, another one perished due to the cruelty pursuid by the nefarious owner, because as far as the rspca are concerned they have food. This isn't good enough, they are clearly neglected and need removing and I will not settle until action is taken! It takes time for horses to become thin it doesn't happen over night.
Unfortunately it's the same all over the country. Driving along in your car you often see horses tethered at the side of the road, stick thin and weak...since when is this acceptable?
We Live in an era or freedom of speech, the right to vote. But who speaks out for the animals? The ones out of view to the public, the ones we drive by every day on our commute to work by the side of the road with barely a mouthful to chew on!
I care enough to try and get the law over turned.
Find the goodness in your heart to join me and help those who don't have a voice!
