Nicholson Borough Council voted in July 2020 to remove the County Waste recycling receptacles housed outside of the borough building. 

The reason cited is that "not everyone using it lives in either approved municipality, and people dropping off non-recyclable items has become a growing problem". 

Easy solution - MONITOR the bins. Supposedly, there is a surveillance camera - why can't someone review footage, note down license plate numbers of those abusing and report them to police. DO NOT PUNISH Nicholson residents. 

It is unfair and unacceptable to ask residents to drive the 40-minute round trip to Tunkhannock to drop off recycling or to ask them to change their waste disposal provider. Most of the recyclable products will now either be thrown in the trash or burned, which is extremely harmful to the environment. 

Please sign the petition so we can bring this to the Borough Council and demand they reinstate a great, earth-friendly service to residents.
