Parliament must not allow a ‘No Deal’ Brexit under any circumstances.

The Issue

The General Election on 12 December 2019 is unlikely to resolve Brexit or the issues that brought Brexit, not least the damage caused by 9 years of austerity.

The EU referendum in June 2016 created even more divisions in our four nations than had previously existed; the facts are still being debated and challenged, but time has moved on and democracy demands the freedom to change our minds - and to vote again on the information that’s now been made clearer, by reports such as Operation Yellowhammer. The report makes clear the serious weaknesses of No Deal Brexit.

In an ideal world, the next Parliament should provide an option for a Confirmatory Referendum, so that there is a genuine opportunity for everyone to vote for their preference given the facts. The choice should then simply be to Brexit or to Remain.

If this doesn’t happen, and if the next Parliament fails to establish the detailed programme arrangements for the Brexit deal that was agreed with the EU27, then a ‘No Deal’ Brexit could potentially happen at the end of January 2020 as no further extensions will be granted.

A No Deal Brexit would be the most damaging scenario for the United Kingdom.

Please support this petition to ensure Parliament understands the strength of feeling that exists, and the importance of preventing a No Deal Brexit.
