Many GP surgeries are still effectively closed and not seeing people face to face. It is almost impossible to see a GP and even get through to the surgery by telephone to try and speak to a doctor. 

People with chronic illness are not getting the help they need and this is leading to serious health issues and suffering. 

Cancer is not being diagnosed quickly and more people are presenting with advanced disease which is more difficult to treat. We see adverts on TV asking us to get any symptoms of cancer checked out and yet the GP is the first point of call and they are virtually unreachable. 

GPs cannot diagnose over the telephone however good they are.  Nothing replaces face to face consultations.  We have the right to be seen and be able to feel confident we can get the help we need when we are ill.  

I have written to my MP and have received a standard reply from the Department of Health saying that I am wrong and GPs are open as usual which is just not true. What more can we do to try and get the service back to normal? 

This cannot continue. We need to get GP surgeries fully open again to avoid this health crisis. Why are they still not seeing patients face to face and nothing is being done to address this issue? Why does the Government insist surgeries are “open for business” when most of us know this is not true? 

Good health should not be a postcode lottery. All GP surgeries should be fully open and not just some. The government need to step in.
