Schools were open at half capacity, in Alert Level 2, instead of at full capacity. Meaning it wasn’t safe enough in a lower level to send us all back to school at the same time. So why, now that we are in Alert Level 4, should we be going back in the same model we were in Alert Level 2. Our schools are no longer doing standardized testing this year, all we have is crowding of assignments. Stressed students who don’t know what to do with all the work being piled on, assignment after assignment. Teachers that are oblivious to how stressed students are and how terribly this is affecting they’re mental health. And students who don’t have enough time to complete work being assigned with due dates and only 10 days of in person learning left. Most students agree that to close the schools, given all of the piled up work and all of the cases we have been getting recently. It would be a great idea to shut down schools until the fall.
