Coal Action Network are calling on the new Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government to end opencast coal for good.

An online petition, signed by more than 117,000 people, is urging Robert Jenrick to refuse Banks Group’s permission to extract 3 million tonnes of coal at Druridge Bay in Northumberland and to revoke planning permission at their Bradley site in the Pont Valley in County Durham.
