At tonight's council meeting approval will be sought for the Development and Allocations Plan, which allocates land at Dewley Hill as an Area of Search for coal extraction.

A number of people will be gathering outside Newcastle Civic Centre from 5.30pm to oppose the plans.

Signatures on the petition are rising and once they reach the 2,500 mark, we can request a full council debate on the matter.

Please continue to share the petition widely.

The planning documents are not yet available on the council website, however, project details can now be viewed on Banks' website.
