Few objections have been lodged in response to the new consultation on Newcastle Great Park Consortium's plans for Cell A/B1 of the Great Park.
The proposed development would harm wildlife and result in loss of Green Belt.
We have created a template letter, which can be sent to adam.nilsson@newcastle.gov.uk with an open copy to planning.control@newcastle.gov.uk.

Dear Mr Nilsson,
I object to planning application 2017/0666/01/OUT on the grounds that such development would result in significant harm to biodiversity and further loss of Green Belt and open space.
The applicant’s dismissal of alternative proposals reveals a lack of regard for local and national policies on Green Belt, Open Space and Biodiversity.
The proposed development would not be in accordance with the local development plan, which does not release Cell B1 from the Green Belt. There are no very special circumstances to justify this development. The sports pitches should be located in Cell A, as set out in the Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan. This would be less harmful to wildlife.
Newcastle City Council has failed to enforce the requirements of earlier consent to landscape the area for nature conservation, which is part of a legally binding agreement.
Unless the application is amended to remove Green Belt encroachment in Cell B1, Newcastle City Council cannot make a lawful decision to grant planning permission and has no alternative but to refuse planning permission for this proposal.
Should Newcastle City Council see fit to approve this application, it will be open to legal challenge.
I would be grateful if you could take on board these comments and recommend refusal for this application.
Yours sincerely,
