As the saying goes, "punishable by fine" usually equates to "legal for the rich". 

Using this rationale, I believe, that even if the couple who flouted the lockdown rules receives the maximum fine of $4000 that it will not be enough to deter others from doing similar things in the future. 

Our approach to this pandemic has been regarded the best in the world and there is a reason for that. The reason is because the team of five million all did their part. We understood the assignment, that the overall health and well-being of the collective was far more important than the inconvenience it created for one or two individuals. 

No fine will ever be enough to repair the damage these two have done. Therefore, our legal practitioners need to set a precedence here and make an example of this pair. Otherwise I fear that the threads that hold our social fabric together might begin to unravel if not. So, if you agree with me, please take the time to sign this petition.
