With the lockdown, hundreds of men and women sacrifice themselves. Some embrace it with love but some with hesitations for they have no options as they are essential workers. They are the new brand of heroes and soldiers in fighting COVID-19 in the frontline. We must be proud of these people as they weather outside their bubble in the most unprecedented state of affairs in the history of the world.

As a gratitude of their sacrifices and hard work they must be compensated with hazardous pay which is an additional pay while working in hazardous conditions. Because of that we request the government to pay these essential workers with hazardous pay. While many kiwis have the luxury of their own home, working or otherwise, during lockdown and most getting paid, these workers do not have that option. These workers are coming into contact with multiple people every day and putting themselves and their bubble at high risk to the coronavirus.

Our essential workers are there for us to tirelessly and endlessly cater for our needs, yet they are left in a very vulnerable position. It is our, tax payers, obligation to ensure they are taken care of financially at the very least. 

Essential workers are helping keep humanity medically cared and fed during these troubled times. Imagine yourself or someone you love in their position, please.
