Yesterday, NYC DOT denied my request for "daylighting" at the intersection of 85th Avenue and 114th Street. Daylighting is the practice of blocking visual barriers at an intersection to improve visibility for both vehicles and pedestrians (i.e. "No Parking From Here to Corner" signs).

The NYC DOT's blasé response does not recommend daylighting for this intersection, and really shows their lack of care and effort in improving traffic safety in our neighborhood.

However, we think daylighting is a vital step in improving the safety of our intersections, in addition to our proposed stop signs. Now, we need even more signatures to get these stop sign requests on their desks and let NYC DOT know how seriously we're taking this cause.

In other news, I wanted to let you know we’ve just passed 350 signatures on our petition! Thank you so much for your support! Will you help me to get more support by sharing this petition with ten other people? If enough of us sign we can’t be ignored!
