Once guns remain accessible, people will use them to kill other people. Killing is the purpose of guns. If you only ban assault guns, then people will use other guns to kill each other. If you ban criminals or the mentally unstable, from buying guns, they will buy it illegally. This will also cause the rise of illegal gun sale. Everyone would rather enter a public place if they knew that guns were not allowed, over entering a place where guns are allowed. It's simple, no guns, no shootings. The second amendment is out dated and doesn't serve the purpose it was intended for. The purpose was for the people to able to overthrow the government if necessary, with the use of the weapon at the time, guns. If it was 500 years earlier, the amendment would say, the right to bear sticks. And rightfully it would be obsolete now. People cannot overthrow a government with guns, as they now have bombs, not cannons. They have the ability to shoot from the sky in jets and helicopters, unlike in 1791. The NRA is using an out dated, obsolete, barbaric, loop hole, to profit from. The second amendment needs to be repealed, as it no longer applies and is not beneficial to society, just as prohibition was repealed. The government is basically accepting bribes in the open, from NRA lobbyists. That is what taking their money boils down to. Filling their pockets is more important than our lives.
