Currently under NRS 486.351 lane splitting otherwise known as filtering is illegal. In 2013 under AB236 NRS 486.351 was voted on to be amended to allow lane splitting under a specific set of conditions. Although AB236 passed the Nevada Assembly, it failed in the senate and was voted no by senators Brower, Cegavske, Ford, Goicoechea, Gustavson, Hammond, Hutchison, Jones, Kieckhefer, Kihuen, Parks, Roberson, Setteimeyer, Smith, Spearman, and Woodhouse. This is a petition to get lane splitting legalized in Nevada, riders all across America know the practice is much safer and a recent University of Berkeley published in May of 2015 supports that claim with statistical data. Please help let the Nevada Senate and the Govenors office know that you support lane splitting for the safety of everyone on the road.
