Pathetically, Allen’s have changed the name of the popular lollies “Redskins”. The new name “Red Rippers” is the nickname of a Soviet serial killer who mutilated, sexually assaulted and murdered over 50 women and children. The new name has much more potential to offend or traumatise Australian and New Zealand citizens than the original. “Redskins” have been enjoyed by Australians and New Zealanders for decades and to change the name ruins the Australian and New Zealand spirit of this lolly.
