Dear all - thank you all so much for supporting the petition, what a fantastic response, it demonstrates how much Wish Park is valued by the community and we want the council to maintain it to a level so that everyone can enjoy the park.
The next step is to get to 1250 signatures as soon as we can and then we will confirm to the council we will present the petition at City Environment South Downs and the Sea Committee - 14 November 2023. The committee then have to debate the issue and what should be done about it.
Wish Ward has 10,000 residents so getting to 1,250 is a huge achievement but we could really demonstrate how much the community care about this issue with the more signatures we can secure by 14th Nov. Please keep sharing the petition and encouraging signatures.
Thank you to everyone who has paid to promote the petition and for all your comments, I read them all and these are really valuable for when we present at committee.
We would like to make you aware that the friends of WP group have a number of volunteers coming to the park on Wednesday to do some work on the borders. They are meeting by the cafe at 11.30am and should finish around 3.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join in for as long as you like, opportunity to get some exercise and meet new people - it's what the park is all about.
