NEED CLEAN AND GOOD QUALITY DRINKING WATER IN LAW FACULTY DELHI UNIVERSITY

The Issue

Petition for Safe and Clean Drinking Water in Law Faculty, Delhi University

1.Who is impacted?

The lack of safe and clean drinking water in Law Faculty, Delhi University, profoundly impacts students, faculty, and staff alike. Every day, individuals within the academic community are confronted with the harsh reality of inadequate water quality in Law Centre I & II, we have been provided with same water as that of washrooms in water cooler. In Campus Law Centre -  the TDS of water is 805. This problem not only undermines the well-being of the campus community but also compromises the fundamental right to access clean water, a basic necessity for all.

2.What is at stake?

The stakes regarding the provision of safe and clean drinking water in Law Faculty, Delhi University, are substantial. Without immediate intervention, the current situation not only perpetuates health risks but also erodes trust in the institution's ability to prioritize the welfare of its members. Persistent exposure to contaminated water jeopardizes the academic performance and overall productivity of students and faculty. Furthermore, maintaining the status quo risks tarnishing the reputation of the university as a whole, as it fails to uphold basic standards of health and hygiene. Conversely, rectifying this issue presents an opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to the well-being and safety of all individuals associated with the institution.

3.Why is now the time to act?

Now, more than ever, is the time to address the pressing issue of safe and clean drinking water in Law Faculty, Delhi University. The ongoing global emphasis on health and hygiene underscores the urgency of ensuring access to uncontaminated water sources. Delaying action only prolongs the suffering and uncertainty faced by members of the academic community. Immediate action is imperative to safeguard the health, well-being, and dignity of all individuals within the Law Faculty, Delhi University.
