We learned yesterday that The Public Hearing For The Protect Act is scheduled for 3/25/22!! More Information will be forthcoming about how to sign up for public testimony but this HUGE that we now have a date & can show up in FULL FORCE!

We also know the Public Hearing (which will be virtual) will likely be all day, so as much as possibly try to plan to be flexible because you’ll be picked to give testimony in a randomized order that’s given the day of.
In addition we do not have a bill number yet! Please stay tuned and we promise we will get you the bill member and exact link to register for testimony as soon as we are informed!!
Lastly, On this Saturday’sOrganizing Call on 3/19/22 at 12pm we will discuss some changes in our model legislation!
For one, the Residential Rehab Unit’s are no longer a structure inside of the bill and the oversight provision has become more robust. Oversight now includes the Ombudsman & The Community Commission, which actually will better ensure incarcerated people’s needs are met, and long term-changes are implemented.
