Good morning

Here is the latest switcheroo corrections have scheduled instead of following through with what Stop Solitary Confinement, CT DOC Commissioner Angel Quiros, and Gov. Ned Lamont agreed upon as 6.5 hours of out of cell  time. Out of cell time is defined as 60 minutes for chow/meal time since the commissioner worded his commitment to this instead of recreation in response to Governor Lamont’s veto to the Protect Act. Feedback is when you are fed in your cell. Each meal is 20 minutes long, and breakfast is at 430am so they are never actually allowed to utilize. Recreation is for showering, phones, gym, and outside air time. Disinfectant time is the time allowed to sanitize before rec time is only 15 minutes to wipe down all touch surfaces. Cell clean up time is 30 minutes to clean 25 cells. Remember you are in an enclosed sleeping space with a toilet so fecal matter travels and covid is still a threat!

We need our of cell time to be renegotiated as rec time in order to utilize all 4 hours shower, exercise, get some air and use the phones. They do not want chow time to be included in their 4 hours of rec! Please call, email, tweet the Governor and let them know incarcerated people should be afforded at minimum2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening.
