WHY: Demand an override of Governor Lamont's S.B. 1059 veto

Stop Solitary CT is seeking justice. A bipartisan vote which led to the passage of S.B. 1059, legislation to limit the use of isolation on incarcerated people in Connecticut, was vetoed by Governor Lamont on June 30th. The Executive Order he issued afterward is an insufficient, temporary measure that weakens the reforms of S.B. 1059 beyond recognition. With his action, the voices of legislators and of people across the state were nullified. Legislators now have a moral obligation to seek an override of the governor’s veto.
