Thank you for signing the many petitions to make sure our loved ones are treated humanely and families are not ripped apart or ripped off.

Jail calls are now free in San Francisco.
Earlier this week, after nearly two years of advocacy, San Francisco became the second major city to stop charging the incarcerated people and their families for phone calls. Doubling the excitement, we helped the City develop an innovative contract that has the potential to revolutionize the prison telecom industry and bring free phone calls to other jurisdictions. The City also stopped generating revenue on commissary markups. In total, San Francisco families will save $1.7 million each year and can now stay better connected.

FCC voted to lower rates caps for prison phone calls.
Last week, in a unanimous vote, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) initiated a rulemaking process to lower the rate caps for long-distance prison and jail calls by as much as 44%, allowing families to save considerably on calls.

Please continue to share my petition to get more recreational time for the people incarcerated in Connecticut so that they do not have to choose between a shower and a call. More calls to actions to help people incarcerated across the nation to come.
