As we get ready to barbecue or spend time with our family this long weekend remember those locked up behind those walls. some who are veterans, others who have mental illness, and even those who cannot afford bail to prepare for their case at home. Many are overcharged or wrongfully convicted.

Remember they have families too. We need at least 1200 signatures but should have 10,000 or more. Keep signing and sharing the petition with friends, colleagues, other officials who can put pressure on Governor Lamont because a death row was abolished so a prison sentence should not become a death sentence! Take better care of our older incarcerated loved ones or let them go somewhere they can receive better care!

Our loved ones are being treated inhumanely. Covid19 is running amok even though visits have stopped since March 12. Pregnant women are not receiving proper care. People with heart and lung issues being ignored, people with diabetes being neglected, and the abuse is not being recorded on cellphones for the world to rise up and protest until after a death. Our loved ones are alive now. We don’t want hashtags and settlements. We want them home alive and able bodied. Care for our precious sacred family and friends. Give them recreational time to maintain their sanity, improve their spirits, teach them an adaptive coping skill, offer them a job with a livable wage and release them  back to the community to be productive!
